Scholarship Terms
What will I receive under the scholarship?
This is a full local scholarship and will cover the local university [including Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)] tuition fees, living allowances, computer and settling allowance, hostel allowance, summer programme or field trip sponsorship, CCA sponsorship and overseas exchange programme sponsorship.
What is the duration of my bond?
You are committed to work in the sponsoring organisation for four years. Should you pursue a master’s degree under the sponsoring organisation’s sponsorship, your bond period may be increased proportionately.
Must I serve out my bond strictly in my sponsoring organisation?
Yes, your service obligation is to your sponsoring organisation. One of the strengths of the SgIS is that you have the opportunity for internships during your undergraduate studies and to gain direct entry into your sponsoring organisation upon graduation. By then, your sponsoring organisation would have dedicated significant resources to you as an SgIS scholar by placing you into its mentorship and development programmes.
Will I receive sponsorship to pursue a master’s degree?
You may seek approval from your sponsoring organisation. Approval is subject to the needs of your sponsoring organisation.
Will I be allowed to hold other undergraduate scholarships concurrent to SgIS?
No.
What are the terms of the mid-term scholarship?
The terms of the mid-term scholarship will be confirmed only at a later date. You may indicate your interest in a mid-term scholarship here if you are not graduating from your undergraduate studies in 2013.
