SgIS Mid-Term Overseas

The Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS) Mid-Term Overseas is tenable for young Singapore Citizens interested to have a head start with one of the participating organisations, which are key players in Singapore’s strategic sectors, while pursuing their undergraduate studies overseas.

SgIS scholars can plug into the sector of their choice through internships and development programmes offered by their sponsoring organisations.

Sponsoring organisations will tailor development programmes for their scholars during their studies and as soon as they embark on their careers upon graduation.

Possible development programmes include:

  • Attachment to overseas subsidiaries (if applicable)
  • Career progression and management development programmes
  • Internship programmes
  • Mentorship by senior leaders in the industry
  • Rotation opportunities
  • Sponsorship for master’s studies (subject to meeting academic requirements and sponsoring organisation’s approval)

Eligibility & Universities • Singapore Citizens whom are currently pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree in an overseas university
• Have completed at least 1 academic semester in university and have not embarked on final year of study at point of application
• Good Co-curricular Activities (CCA) records
• Passion to contribute to Singapore’s strategic sectors.
• Good undergraduate results across all disciplines (excluding Medicine, Dentistry and other healthcare-related disciplines) from overseas universities
Value of Award & Bond With Sponsoring Organisation Scholarship will be given in the form of a one-time grant as partial coverage for university related expenses

Applicants with more than 2 academic years remaining in university at time of application
• SGD 60,000
• Duration of Bond: 3 years

Applicants with 1 to 2 academic years remaining in university at time of application
• SGD 40,000
• Duration of Bond: 2 Years
