Power
The Power sector plays a critical role in sustaining Singapore’s economy, as it is responsible for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity and gas to businesses and homes. Business, residential and transport activities are made possible on the back of a robust and reliable electricity and gas system.
New developments in the sector include the building of Singapore’s first Liquefied Natural Gas terminal which was commissioned in May 2013, new generation plantings and the deployment of innovative smart grid technologies. These developments, coupled with ageing manpower demographics, have increased demand for fresh talent in a sector that is not only stable, but also rewarding and meaningful. Besides core technical/engineering skills, the Power sector requires people in varied functions such as trading and project management.
